General Venue Questions

What makes Price Creek Event Center unique among Cedar Rapids wedding venues?

We're designed with your celebration in mind! Our dedicated indoor ceremony space means you can decorate the night before without worry. Our separate buffet room keeps food prep behind the scenes so your dance floor is ready to go from the moment dinner ends. And our high-end whiskey and bourbon tasting bar? It's a guest favorite that sets us apart from other wedding venues in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City!

Where is Price Creek Event Center located?

We're nestled in charming Amana, Iowa—just 15-20 minutes from both Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. It's the perfect blend of convenient and picturesque!

How far in advance should we book?

Most couples book about a year in advance, though we've had weddings come together beautifully with as little as two months' notice and others planned two years out. The sweet spot? Reach out as soon as you have a date in mind! We're also happy to accommodate corporate events and parties typically planned 3-6 months ahead.

Do you host multiple events on the same day?

For our smaller packages (the Lobby & Bar, 1st Floor Only, or 2nd Floor Only), we may schedule multiple events with cleaning time built in between. Our Full Building package gives you exclusive access to the entire venue for 20 hours, so you'll have the place all to yourselves!


Rental Packages & Pricing

What rental packages do you offer?

We have four flexible options to fit your celebration style:

  • Lobby & Bar - Perfect for intimate gatherings and private bar experiences. $100/hour (2-hour minimum), up to 45 guests with 35 seats available.

  • 2nd Floor Only - Ideal for elopements or ceremonies. Includes our dedicated indoor ceremony space and changing rooms, plus a small upstairs bar for beer and wine. $250/hour (2-hour minimum), up to 185 guests.

  • First Floor Only - Great for reception-only celebrations, larger parties, and corporate events. Includes the Lobby & Bar, Reception Hall, and Buffet Room with tables, chairs, and linens. $200/hour (5-hour minimum), up to 200 guests.

  • Full Building - Our most popular wedding package! Everything Price Creek has to offer for 20 hours (7am-2am). $6,000 for Saturdays, $5,500 for Fridays & Sundays, $5,000 for Monday-Thursday.

What's included in the rental fee?

All packages include a professional bartender for spaces with bar access. Our First Floor and Full Building packages include tables, chairs, and linens at no extra cost. The Full Building package gives you access to our indoor ceremony space, changing rooms, Reception Hall, Buffet Room, and our signature whiskey/bourbon bar!

Are there any date restrictions or additional fees?

Holidays and select special dates may be double the standard rate—we want to ensure our amazing staff is well-compensated for working those days. We'll always be transparent about pricing when you inquire about your date!


Ceremony Space

Do you have an outdoor ceremony space?

We have something even better—a stunning dedicated indoor ceremony space! This means weather is never a concern, and you can decorate the night before without worrying about wind, rain, or surprise weather changes (extra rental fees apply for day before decorating). Plus, we're diligent about snow removal, and our covered driveway keeps guests dry when arriving in the rain.

Can we decorate the ceremony space in advance?

Absolutely! One of our favorite features is that our indoor ceremony space allows you to set up decorations the night before (additional rental fees apply for day before decorating). No rushing on your wedding day!

Is there a separate space for getting ready?

Yes! Our 2nd Floor and Full Building packages include changing rooms so you and your wedding party can get ready in comfort.


Food & Beverage

Do you provide catering?

We have in-house catering available, meaning we can cater your main event, and for weddings the rehearsal dinner, along with breakfast and lunch on the wedding day. No stressing about getting too hungry! We also welcome licensed and insured outside caterers. The choice is yours!

What about the bar service?

This is where we really shine! Every rental automatically includes a professional bartender, and our high-end whiskey and bourbon tasting bar is stocked with premium selections. You can choose a fully hosted bar (open bar), full cash bar, or a combination that works for your budget. Since we hold the liquor license, all alcohol must be provided by Price Creek, but we're happy to bring in special requests as long as we can legally sell them in Iowa.

Our separate buffet room is a game-changer! Food service happens behind the scenes, so there's no disruption to your event flow. When dinner is done, your dance floor is already clear and ready for the party to begin—no awkward wait time while staff clears tables.


Logistics & Details

How much parking is available?

We have plenty of space with 85 parking spots in our lower lot and 25+ spaces in our upper lot—more than enough for most celebrations!

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Yes! Both our upper and lower levels feature zero-entry access, meaning no stairs are required. Guests with mobility considerations can enter and move throughout the building with ease.

How does setup and cleanup time work?

Your rental time includes both setup and cleanup. For example, if you need an hour to set up, three hours for your event, and an hour to tear down, you'd want to book the space for five hours total. This ensures you're never rushed!

Can we have a rehearsal at the venue?

If you're booking our Full Building package for your wedding, you may rent the entire venue for the day before for just $1,000 (10-hour rental). This is perfect for decor setup, your rehearsal, and even a rehearsal dinner (yes we can cater that too)! This option becomes available three months before your wedding date. Need it sooner? Let's talk—we're happy to work with you on arrangements.


Vendor & Decor Policies

Can we use our own vendors?

Yes! We welcome outside vendors as long as they're insured and licensed (when applicable). We also encourage couples to carry wedding insurance and list us as additionally insured—it provides peace of mind for everyone!

Are there any restrictions on decorations?

We have just one important rule: nothing can be hung directly on the walls. Our beautiful wallpaper has embedded glitter that can be damaged even by removable adhesives like 3M strips. We're happy to help you brainstorm alternative decoration solutions that look amazing!

Is there a noise curfew or volume restriction?

Nope! No curfews, no decibel limits. Dance the night away! We do work with couples to keep guest comfort in mind when it comes to sound levels, but you're free to celebrate as loudly as you'd like.


Planning Support

Do you offer wedding planning services?

We sure do! With over 25 years of experience as DJs and wedding/event planner, we know exactly what to look for and think about for your big day. We're available to be hired for full planning and DJ services at any event. Our experience means we can help you avoid common pitfalls and create a celebration that flows beautifully from start to finish.
